留学，给了大家一个这样的机会。
你知道，有人自始至终不知道。你见到，有人终其一生见不到。
我们这些留学生隔江踏海翻山而来、节日与家人相隔、自我放逐到千里之外，耗费了不小数量的金钱，到底为了什么?难道我在国内就不会租房、组装家具、做饭、处理银行水电煤气账单驾车、到处和朋友游玩照相了?在中国，有什么事是只能在国外做的呢?

听过一个东北同学这么说：出国就像出柜，不出憋屈，出了后悔。
啊，当然了，我也听过很多高票回答这样的答案。不远离家，你并不知道家的好处。
都很有道理对不。确实。
我觉得出国留学的意义在于同时满足了两个叫人澎湃的梦想：「读万卷书，行万里路」。
曾在北京度过半年书，一些中学的同学，一辈子就在北京城里打转。有个小孩儿，皇城根儿，不曾远行，不曾别离，也有很牛逼的心态，当然了，成绩也好，在北大念书，就想着毕业了在研究所混口饭吃，反正家里条件也不错。出过国，和爸妈游新马泰。没什么影响，都是老样子。不能说是混吃等死，但也只好一点点，不知道自己想要什么。
有一天他突然说要出国念书，本来只是图好玩。
然后交换了半年，回来以后就像变了一个人，非要拉我回去创业。而且是真的很具体的东西都拿出来了。我说，我还没有想创业的本领可以与你合作。当然这个就是别的话题了。
出国念书真的不仅仅是上课念书。
当然了，国外的教育环境也是一个很大的震撼，对于没有接触过的人而言，可以大大开拓视野，可以随时作出一个头脑风暴，可以作出有建设性的质疑(现在国内大学也开始鼓励质疑了，但很多学生都是为质疑而质疑，提出的问题自己都并不怀疑，这个是另一种服从，服从「质疑」的要求)，等等，很多东西。
补充：留学给你还有一个好东西叫做逆境教育。
接受挫折不是去接受这个世界的黑暗或者不平等。最重要的是学会自己挑战生活。
在一种机遇与挑战并存的环境中探求自己的欲望或梦想，这时候面临的逆境才可叫作逆境。
这个是出国旅游学不到的。
而从国内校园跨入西方社会种种不适。在校园里，和同学相处，与教授探讨，写essay，做项目，这些过程中都能更好懂得挫折真味。工作就更不必提了。
国内的「挫折」貌似往往是这样的：一帆风顺，有一天发现别人有钱自己没钱，或者某君比自己更富有，发现某某凭关系顶了你的位置，发现别人会拍马屁你不会拍，发现会哭的孩子有奶吃，好了，发现社会不公平了，要变的现实了。喔，这是挫折教育。好多朋友给我描述的就是这样的东西。
这个……怎么能叫挫折?这个叫时代的弊病，社会的固疾，是需要我们资深变得足够强大以后慢慢改变的东西。
不要把温水煮青蛙当成了不起的长大。战胜挫折是身为一只青蛙，敏锐地意识到水温在上升，奋勇跳出来，知道怎么关掉加热器，回来解救你的青蛙小伙伴们。
